Simply put, it is a form of high quality printing that reproduces digital images of original art allowing the art to be sized to meet the customers specifications. Another advantage is that it provides customers a more affordable option for owning a quality reproduction. Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay"), is an invented name for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using high quality ink-jet printing. The word "giclée" is derived from the French language word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray". The term  "giclee print" designates an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.
